Mr. Sackler joined Voorsanger Architects in 2014 to work on the LaGuardia Airport Redevelopment Project for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Voorsanger Architects is supplementing the Port Authority Engineering and Architectural Design Department, providing on-site and call-in services to evaluate design submissions for the redevelopment of La Guardia Airport: new work and new improvements to existing buildings.
Through other architects, Mr. Sackler has provided architectural services to the Port Authority on projects at LaGuardia Airport including masonry repair and restoration, water remediation, and re-roofing. He has also contributed to projects at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, the Lincoln Tunnel, and Newark Airport.
Mr. Sackler's educational projects have included work for the New Jersey School Development Authority: the masonry repair and window replacement of PS 34, Jersey City, NJ; as well as pre-design work for elementary school projects comprised of renovations and new design. At the federal level, he participated in the renovation of the South Bronx Jobs Corps center, in Bronx, New York. University work has included projects at New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Edison State College, NJ.
Private sector projects have included managing project teams to provide full services for the development of an office and retail center in the Bronx for The Related Companies; the construction of a corporate headquarters building for New York Life Investment Management in Parsippany, NJ; and the gut renovation of a pharmaceutical research facility in Ardsley, NY. Earlier in his career, he participated in the drawing production phases of a high-rise office complex, Southland Life Tower; and the ARCO Oil and Gas Research Center, both in Dallas, Tx.
Mr. Sackler has over 30 years experience in the architecture profession. Registered in New York and New Jersey, he is a LEED accredited professional, and is currently pursuing a certificate from the Columbia University Earth Institute for Continuing Education in Sustainability. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University and a BA in architecture form Columbia University.
